Many are itching to get across the country, but travel could get a bit trickier this weekend.
A storm system been impacting the Northern Plains. It will shift east and bring rainfall to the interior Northeast by Monday.
A separate system is impacting California, Oregon and Washington, which will kickstart a more active pattern across the West through the weekend and into early next week.
The Central Plains could see severe weather each day this weekend. It will continue for the Plains into next week and will also spread to include parts of the Midwest. Cities like Dallas, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Chicago, Des Moines, Minneapolis, Detroit and St. Louis could see days of severe weather.
If you're heading south in the days ahead, keep in mind that the trees are in full swing. Pollen sufferers will want to account for that in any outdoor plans. You can see how far north the pollen has gotten in maps at the end of this article.
