Taylor Swift is naming her favorite Taylor Swift track!
During her Wednesday, Dec. 10 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the host asked 35-year-old Swift to name her “top five” of her songs, telling her that Dolly Parton, Bruce Springsteen and Elton John had already given him their lists from their own back catalogs.
A clearly flummoxed Swift ummed and aaahed before saying, “this is so much pressure, oh my god.”
The “Fate of Ophelia” star then said she would need a little more time to think about all five of her picks, “I think I require a little time to appreciate my work, and it’s constantly changing,” she explained.

However, she did name the track she would place at the top of her list, and it’s a longtime fan favorite!
“I will say I think number one is 'All Too Well' the 10-minute version,” she said to the cheers and screams of the audience.
Swift continued to say that she was “obsessed” with the tracks on her new album The Life of a Showgirl right now, she also added that “somewhere in this list” she would place the track “Mirrorball” from her 2020 album Folklore.
Back in November 2021, Swift dropped new album Red (Taylor’s Version) which included the much fabled 10-minute version of her track “All Too Well.”

The original track appeared on the first version of Red in 2012 and over the years, it became a favorite of both fans and critics, some of whom have called it the best song she's ever written. Nine years later came the the 10-minute extended version, which Swift has teased for years which was accompanied by a short film she directed, reflecting the powerful lyrics.
Back in 2023, Swift sat down with Martin McDonagh for the Variety Directors on Directors interview, and talked about her creative process behind All Too Well: The Short Film, telling him it was a direct reflection of a heartbreak she endured in her early 20s, and that she's enjoyed the chance to revisit that period in her life.
"Emotionally, I was going through exactly what the short film depicts, and I think that time is such an incredible asset to use when we have these stories that are hard to tell in the moment," she said. "Because it's good if a story is hard to tell, that means it's incredibly emotionally potent, but it's impossible to tell it with perspective and truth if you're in it sometimes."
The short film stars Dylan O’Brien and Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink.
Swift’s appearance on Colbert was to promote her upcoming docuseries, The End of an Era, the first two episodes of which will drop on Disney+ alongside her new concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, on Friday, Dec. 12. Each week, two new episodes of the docuseries will be released.
