For years, plastic surgery in Hollywood happened behind closed doors, with suspiciously refreshed stars crediting new diets and lots of hydration for their youthful appearances. But more recently, it's become popular not only to confirm that you've had work done, but to share the exact details of what went down (including some eye-watering price tags and photographs of the often-painful recovery process) in order to make the entire industry more transparent. Stars are sharing exactly what they've asked for in their breast implants, the full workup of all of their regular cosmetic maintenance (did you know you could get regular earlobe filler)? and plenty of insight into the blephs, facelifts and more they're asking for to maintain their appearance.
Stars including Rosie O'Donnell, Kris Jenner, Keltie Knight and Bunnie Xo are just a few of the celebrities who have been very open about the who, what, when and why of their recent facelifts, and have shared the results of the work with fans. Read on to see their candid confessions and take notes, if you like!

In a May 2026 Instagram post, Rosie O'Donnell, 64, described herself as someone who she thought "would never - ever" get a facelift: "I thought it was a betrayal. Of feminism. Of aging. Of our team of women worldwide," but then, "I lost 50 pounds…"
So after a lot of mental debate, she opted for a lower plane deep facelift which "cost more money than I have ever paid for a car" ... and the response was muted: "Not one person. Not a friend, not a stranger, not even people who owe me compliments. My teen daughter, has not said a word. Nothing. I went through a full existential feminist crisis, had my face and neck surgically altered, and the result is… zippo."
But she's happy with the results, as well as her decision to embrace whatever she's feeling in whatever phase of life she's in and do what's best for her.

When the internet marveled over Kris Jenner's refreshed visage in May 2025, the momager, 69, didn't credit sunscreen and water — instead she gave the credit right to the surgeon who did the work, Dr. Steven Levine.
"I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh," she told Vogue Arabia an interview published in August of that year. "I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy. ... For me, this is aging gracefully. It's my version. I decided to reveal some details because I feel it can be very inspirational to people who aren't feeling so great about themselves."
People shouldn't have been surprised at her candor, however; she'd already filmed a 2011 facelift for Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Keltie Knight

In May 2026, TV host Keltie Knight shared in an essay for Glamour that getting a facelift at 41 is "the best thing I ever did even though it was so expensive." She wrote that she initially got it done after years of feeling self-conscious about the way she looked (exacerbated by unkind reader comments) and the whole procedure took nine hours because she had so much scar tissue from the many other procedures she'd had done over the years. But she's thrilled with the results from Dr. Jared Diamond, even if she might not have planned to go into detail before accidentally revealing it on an episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and is sharing everything she's learned about facial work on her social handles.

"Old filler" was behind Bunnie Xo's decision to undergo a facelift at age 46, and the podcaster and wife of Jelly Roll took fans along for the procedure on her social media accounts — the good, the bad and the in recovery. "I'm going to look crazy, guys," she promised ahead of the March 2026 surgery. "I'm going to be bruised. It's going to be a little weird. Don't freak out. My doctor is really f---ing good, so everything's going to go great."

Ricki Lake

Ricki Lake, 56, shared that a 40-lb. weight loss was also behind her decision to undergo a neck and facelift, and she shared photos a year after the procedure along with raves about the decision. ""I had lost 40 lbs and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin," she wrote on Instagram. "It was never going to tighten up on its own. Not at 55. Trust me, when I tell you, I still felt extra cute and loved myself regardless, especially after working so hard to get in the best shape of my life."
But with a recommendation from a friend to try Dr. Allen Foulad, she decided to undergo surgery, and shared a look at the recovery process with fans in the interest of total transparency. "One year later, I look back on my brave choice and consider it one of the best decisions I ever made for myself," she said.

Kathy Griffin

Another outspoken star not afraid to be honest about the work she's had done, Kathy Griffin is also willing to be honest about the painful recovery as well. For her most recent facelift (her third) in 2025, the comedian, then 64, disclosed a facelift and blepharoplasty (upper eye lift) that included a "cat eye stitch" to make them appear more lifted at the corners.
"I know that's so vain! I'm so vain for no reason. No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face," she told her viewers, and added that the healing process was "disgusting" and involved a stay at "a rich lady recovery place" followed by a nurse at home to empty her drains. "These bitches that are like, 'It's like getting a tooth filled! It's nothing!' No, it's painful ... The first night there's drains that come out of your chin. I know it's so gross. But the vanity takes over."

Jackée Harry shared with Entertainment Tonight in early 2026 that she'd recently had a facelift done by Dr. Patrick Davis, who told the outlet that similar work to her deep place facelift could run between $40,000 and $250,000. Though she had been initially intimidated by the prospect of pain, Harry said she finally wanted to get her "va-va-voom" back. "When you constantly want something that bad, you've got to do it. And I discovered I wanted it that bad," she said.

The couple that goes under the knife together, is for life together...? We're still workshopping that. But Kiss frontman Gene Simmons and his wife, who have been together since the early '80s, decided to splurge on his-and-hers facelifts in 2007 and were thrilled with the results. They filmed the procedure in Dr. Frank Ryan's office for Gene Simmons Family Jewels, and while Shannon (who decided to go for it because "I didn't want him to look younger than me,") couldn't bear to watch, Gene said he was curious, and reported "it was like my face was peeled off and slung over my shoulder."

Catt Sadler

TV host Catt Sadler has long chronicled her plastic surgery journey and been candid about it online. In 2023 at 46, she got the work done and shared the details with Glamour, saying, "It's not like I did it because I can't get a job. It's not that I did it because I want my boyfriend to think I look 35. None of that was a consideration. It was more about looking in the mirror and feeling good. How I feel."
She felt great, but has since been honest that since having the work done, she's still always looking for the next thing to "fix," such as a lower bleph or earlobe revision. She talks about it on her Substack, Substantial, to help answer questions for others about the process.

Marc Jacobs

At age 58 in 2021, designer Marc Jacobs posted some very candid photos from Dr. Andrew Jacono's office that included him in a hyperbaric oxygen tank recovering from a facelift. "#f---gravity #livelaughlift" he wrote in part.
The designer has long been apologetic about doing whatever makes him feel good, once saying, "Why not? Why not paint your face? Why not get dressed? Why not parade around in your underwear? Why not dance naked? Why not enjoy this time that I have? Why not be me and be unafraid to be me and be unashamed and excited to be me?"

Julie Chen

There's a facelift, and then there's a revenge facelift. Julie Chen got the latter. After leaving the CBS daytime show The Talk in 2018, Chen took stock of her career and decided she need to go under the knife.
"You know how some people, when they get broken up with by a loved one, they get a revenge body? Well, I wanted to get a revenge face," she said in her audio memoir, But First, God. "Getting the lower facelift was definitely part of 'my job' because I'm expected to look not drastically different from season to season or how people are used to seeing me on TV."
She wasn't prepared initially to be so open about it, however, instead planning just to show up looking "fabulous and rested." Fate had other ideas, though: "Leaving one of my doctor's appointments looking totally unrecognizable and completely bandaged up like a mummy, little did I know I got caught by the paparazzi."

One of Chen's The Talk costars, Sharon Osbourne, has never been shy about getting work done, whether or not she's pleased with the results. She got her first one in 1987 and another in 2002, but the third time wasn't a charm in 2021. "That was the worst thing that I ever did. I looked like Cyclops," she told The Times in 2023. "I had one eye here and one eye there and my mouth was all askew, and then I had to wait for that to heal before I could go back and have it corrected."
Osbourne, who also tried GLP-1 drugs to lose weight during similar timing, decided she had reached her limit of body modifications. "That [facelift] put me off and it frightens me," she said said. "I really f---ing pushed it with the last facelift and I am now like, no more. Time is against me, I cannot have another facelift."

Sonja Morgan

Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan knew people would be wondering about her refreshed look, so decided to address the rumors before they started.
"There's been speculation around my fresh new look. I got a lower facelift and neck lift after wrapping Season 12. I just wanted to be rid of the wrinkling on my neck and the [jowls] that were starting to form. People thought I was nuts because it was so subtle. But not to me!"
She also visited Dr. Jacono for a deep plane "pick me up" (it "goes under the muscle so your skin is still attached. Your blood flows and your face stays vibrant and heals fast") and was happy with the results.

Stacey Bendet didn't just show the before-and-after of her neck and lower face lift— she showed the during, including a peek at the stitches she received a few days earlier, which she raved were "literally couture" thanks to Dr. Andrew Timberlake's work.
"I wanted a subtle tightening that would be barely noticeable and very natural," she wrote on Instagram, adding that Dr. Timberlake's "delicate and refined work" for the face and neck was appealing. "In choosing a doctor for the procedure, as a self-proclaimed stitch snob, I met several surgeons before making this decision!"

Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle took viewers behind the scenes of his entire experience with Dr. David Rosenberg, including a deep plane neck and face lift, small chin implant and an endoscopic brow lift.
