Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer reunited on the Good Morning America set.

The pair previously co-anchored GMA throughout the 2000s.

“I treasure these special moments,” Roberts said of reuniting with Sawyer.

Robin Roberts and Diane Sawyer absolutely gave America a good morning with their sweet reunion on the Good Morning America set.

Nearly 17 years after Sawyer, 80, left the morning show — which she co-anchored with Roberts, 65, beginning in 2005 — the broadcast veteran returned to the series’ New York City set to share a touching moment with her former colleague and friend.

“Longtime @goodmorningamerica fabu camera operator ‘Nuge’ took this candid photo and sent it to me with caption: ‘Just like old times….’” Roberts wrote Tuesday on Instagram, alongside sharing a photo of herself (below) sitting with Sawyer on the GMA couch.

She continued, “I treasure these special moments with the incomparable @dianesawyer,” and praised her peer for exemplifying “wisdom, such grace…such a dear beautiful friend.”

Roberts also captioned the post with a hashtag referencing the 1991 Ridley Scott film Thelma & Louise, about a pair of women (Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon) who form an intense bond while on the run in a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible.

Stars celebrated the reunion in the comments section, with actress Kim Fields calling the reunion “simply everything,” while fellow ABC personality Deborah Roberts excitedly exclaimed, “You two!”

Sawyer returned to Good Morning America for a special interview that aired earlier this week, in which she interviewed 82-year-old Hollywood icon Michael Douglas about the star’s new memoir, One Helluva Ride.

Sawyer first joined GMA as an anchor alongside Charles Gibson in 1999, with Roberts joining the duo in 2005. She and Sawyer co-anchored the beloved ABC show through 2009, when Sawyer left at the end of that year.

The journalist’s next move took her elsewhere in the ABC family, as she replaced Gibson as the lead anchor on ABC World News days after her GMA departure. She remained with the show until 2014.

Roberts has anchored GMA ever since, among a rotating roster of on-air personalities who’ve sat on the show’s couch with her over the years.
