Princess Diana was resolute in her commitment to breaking from traditional royal parenting practices and rejected subjecting Prince William to the rigid royal protocols King Charles had experienced, according to a royal expert.
Ingrid Steward, author of Catherine & Diana, details how the late princess felt that her then-husband, Charles, had been adversely affected by the conventions of the Firm. She outlines that Diana was convinced Charles' "lack of parental tenderness" had resulted in his inability to be "emotionally open and honest."
The assertion continues, with the book observing that the monarch "had been deprived of crucial early nurturing by the one parent who really mattered: his mother." King Charles and William are both "furious" after Earl Spencer's accusations in his book about Diana.

Ingrid has subsequently defended the late Queen Elizabeth, noting that Charles was only four years old when his mother ascended the throne.
"Her duties prevented her from being the kind of mother she had so wanted to be," she stated.

Charles and Anne were frequently looked after by nannies because of the Queen's demanding schedule. Diana wanted William to experience the "tenderness" she reportedly believed Charles had been denied, and "didn't care how many people she upset or how many toes she trod on."
"She was not going to surrender her child to the antiquated royal system her husband had been subjected to," Ms Steward noted.
Prince William and Prince Harry's upbringings featured theme park outings, fast food restaurant stops, along with public displays of affection and hands-on participation in school sports day. Despite the brothers' shared experiences, circumstances shifted as they matured.
William embraced and upheld royal traditions, with his future responsibilities instilled in him from an early age. Harry, conversely, pursued a less conventional route and was perceived as more outgoing.
Yet both have emulated their mother's approach to raising children. William, who has three children, and Harry, who has two, demonstrate comparable principles ranging from teaching their kids about genuine hardships, to being actively engaged parents participating in school drop-offs, and displaying public warmth.
