Amazon is reportedly poised to become a major sponsor of Prince Harry's Invictus Games in Birmingham, scheduled for 10-17 July 2027.

The tech and retail giant is understood to have reached agreement on a substantial financial deal with the competition.

The sponsorship gap emerged after Boeing, previously one of the event's key backers, chose not to continue its support following the last edition two years ago.

The arrangement with Amazon is also said to improve the likelihood of Meghan attending the games.

Prime Video, Amazon's streaming platform, directly competes with Netflix, which has previously broadcast the Sussexes' lifestyle programmes and an Invictus documentary series.

A source told The Sun: "The deal would be a shot in the arm for Invictus and Harry."

The source added that "the Invictus committee are really hoping it gets over the line," noting that "Amazon wanted to get involved."

The source highlighted that the company already runs significant programmes supporting former military personnel, including employment initiatives.

"The games are a big undertaking and expensive," the source said. "And it's interesting Amazon are Netflix's big rival. It maybe shows Harry and Meg moving in a different direction with a new partner."

The biennial competition will mark the first time the Invictus Games have been staged on British soil since their inaugural edition in London in 2014.

Livewire Pictures has been appointed to produce coverage of the event, though the Invictus Foundation has yet to confirm which broadcaster will air the footage.
