U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime performance, calling it “absolutely terrible” on Truth Social. Trump stated, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children.” He added, “It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”
Trump further criticized the halftime show by calling it “one of the worst, EVER,” and a “slap in the face” to the country. He predicted the “Fake News Media” would praise it despite claiming “there is nothing inspirational about this mess.”
Piers Morgan publicly disagreed with Trump’s comments. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Morgan wrote, “Couldn’t disagree more, Mr President. I absolutely loved Bad Bunny’s halftime show.” He described it as “Amazing (best in Super Bowl history?) theatre/choreography, great energy, superbly confident performance, and a very welcome unifying message.”

Morgan defended Bad Bunny’s cultural impact and linguistic representation, adding, “Spanish is 1st language for 50m+ Americans!” In a follow-up post, he clarified, “I just disagree with him about a lot of things (and agree about others),” while stating he remains “friends with Donald Trump.”

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, became the first artist to perform a Super Bowl halftime show entirely in Spanish. His selection drew criticism from conservative groups, including Turning Point USA, which hosted an alternative All-American Halftime Show featuring Kid Rock, who was accused of lip-syncing.
Bad Bunny has previously criticized Trump’s immigration policies and skipped U.S. venues on tour over concerns for fans’ safety related to ICE activity.
