Megyn Kelly is facing backlash for one of her latest comments about Nancy Guthrie's disappearance.

As the search for Savannah Guthrie's 84-year-old mother continued into its tenth day on Tuesday, Feb. 10, Kelly made a grim prediction about the case that rubbed some people online the wrong way.

In a video from the latest episode of her eponymous radio show, posted just hours after the FBI released surveillance footage of a potential suspect outside the home, Kelly expressed her personal belief that Nancy is no longer alive.

Despite reports of possible ransom notes and messages the family is said to have received from their mother's potential abductor, Kelly boldly asserted on her show that she doesn't believe the Guthrie's are dealing with a kidnapping at all.

Instead, she claimed, "Let’s face it. There’s probably not a kidnapper. This is probably a murderer."

"I'm sorry that's what I think. That's what I've thought for many days now," Kelly added.

Many of Kelly's followers were put off by her comments on the case, accusing her of trying to "drown out what slim hope a family might be holding on to," as one user put it.

"Even if you think this...you don't KNOW!" the same user added in their comment, while another told Kelly, that her assessment of the case may have been "too harsh."

"Let’s face it, you have no idea," someone else wrote.

More users accused Kelly of having "zero compassion" for Guthrie's family, with one person calling it "so rude and unfeeling" to make the assumption before anything is confirmed.

"Your tone is so cold!" another person added.

"What do you get out of announcing this conclusion now?" one critic questioned. "Why would you want to help dash the family’s hopes before there’s a reason for that? Just so you can say 'I told you so' if it turns out that you’re right? Shame on you."

But despite Kelly's personal thoughts on Nancy's case, Savannah and her siblings, Annie and Camron, have maintained their belief that their mother is still alive.

Sharing the surveillance footage of the potential suspect to Instagram on Tuesday, Savannah told her followers that "someone out there recognizes this person," while urging anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department.

"We believe she is still out there," the Today show anchor wrote about her beloved mom, while once again pleading, "Bring her home."
