Sam Vanderpump revealed on Good Morning Britain on Oct. 7 that his health hasn’t yet deteriorated one year after his end-stage liver disease diagnosis
He shared that he is still searching for a liver donor and hopes more people register as organ donors, as thousands await transplants
He said anyone interested in being a donor can contact King’s College Hospital directly to begin the screening process
Sam Vanderpump is still searching for a liver donor.
The Made in Chelsea star and nephew of Lisa Vanderpump, 29, revealed on the Wednesday, Oct. 7 episode of Good Morning Britain(GMB)that he is still awaiting a liver transplant, one year after he was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease.
“When I was first told that I needed a transplant, they said maybe [in] the next two years I’d have a transplant,” Sam shared. “I think we’re already a year down the line and luckily my health hasn’t deteriorated. But that is the fear.”
The reality star said that if his health deteriorates, he would be moved up the list for a transplant. But that would mean his condition had worsened, leaving him in a difficult position.
“So, it’s kind of like you’re caught between a rock and a hard place,” he said. “You want to get further up the list, but you don’t want your health to deteriorate.”

“So, I mean the best solution would be [for] everyone [to] register the decision to become an organ [donor], and we don’t actually have to have this 8,000 people waiting for organs on the transplant list,” he added.
The GMB hosts asked if anyone — whether it be a fan or Made in Chelsea viewer — had “come forward” and said they would “donate” their liver to him.

“Yeah, there have been lots and lots of messages online, but there’s a certain procedure, which I’m not meant to filter that procedure myself,” Sam shared. “So, if someone were interested in being a live donor for me, they would have to contact the hospital, King’s College Hospital, and go through that route themself.”
Sam initially opened up about his liver disease diagnosis on an October 2025 episode of his reality show. The reality star, who previously shared on Instagram that he “lived with a genetic liver condition and polycystic kidney disease (PKD),” said he got a call from a doctor informing him of the diagnosis and next steps.
“There is no hope of my liver getting better, and he said, ‘I wouldn’t be having this call with you if I thought you could make it through the next four or five years,’ ” Sam recalled, per Us Weekly.

When his costar Ollie, 39, asked him how he felt after receiving the diagnosis, Sam told him that he planned to continue doing what he could to feel “healthy” until the day arrived when he could get a liver transplant.
“The way I look at it, I’m healthy now. Hopefully I remain healthy all the way up until one day [when] they’ll give me a call, and I’ll go in for a surgery. And then I wake up and I’ll be healthier,” Sam said on the show, per Us Weekly.
