Kyle Richards says she is thrilled her daughter Farrah is expecting her first baby later this year
Richards is still deciding on her future grandma name and says the baby might ultimately choose it
Farrah announced her pregnancy on Instagram with support from Richards and her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky
Kyle Richards is still trying to figure out what she wants to be called once her grandbaby is born.
The reality TV star, 57, spoke with PEOPLE on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the premiere of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. Richards, who stars in the show alongside several other Bravolebrities, tells PEOPLE that she’s “beyond thrilled” that her daughter Farrah, 37, is pregnant.
“I am just so beyond thrilled and excited and I just feel so blessed that I’m getting to experience something like that,” Richards says. “I know that that is such a blessing and I just can’t believe that that time is here in my life.”
“I mean, I can barely contain myself,” she adds. “I’m so excited.”

But as for her grandma name, Richards says she’s still trying to figure out what she wants to be called.
“I do not know what the baby is gonna call me. I can pick a name,” she shares. “We’ve been trying to pick a name. All of us throw names out there all the time.”

“I think it ultimately will probably end up being whatever the baby decides my name is,” continues Richards.
Earlier this month, Richards’ oldest daughter Farrah announced she is pregnant and expecting her first baby. The real estate agent and reality TV star announced the exciting news on Instagram, sharing pictures of herself holding the sonogram with her growing baby bump on full display.
“My most exciting launch yet. Coming soon late November 2026 ✨.”
In the comment section, Richards shared her excitement for the baby on the way and the new era ahead. “😭❤️ I can’t wait for this new chapter!! 🥹🙏 I love you so much Fairy!” the grandmother-to-be wrote.
Mauricio Umansky, Richards’ estranged husband, is just as excited for the family’s new addition. He also commented under the pregnancy announcement with a heartfelt congratulatory message for the soon-to-be mom.
“You are gorgeous and I’m so happy for all of us and this baby is going to be so loved ❤️❤️❤️,” he wrote. “I can’t wait wooohooo.”
