Kaley Cuoco recounted the "lowest point" of her life amid her 2022 divorce from ex-husband Karl Cook

Cuoco recalled being on the "floor sobbing" before the season 2 premiere of her show The Flight Attendant, thinking she had "ruined" her life

Kaley Cuoco went from her lowest point to meeting her future fiancé in two weeks.

The 40-year-old actress got candid about her highs and lows following her 2022 divorce from ex-husband Karl Cook, during her Monday, Feb. 9, appearance on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s Armchair Expert podcast.

The Big Bang Theory star recalled “laying on the floor of this house that I shared with Karl. We were obviously divorced, divorcing. And it was the day of the [The Flight Attendant season 2] premiere, and I was on the floor sobbing, thinking I ruined my whole life. That is the lowest point of my life I ever had. I couldn't get up. I was so depressed.”

At the end of her three-year marriage, Cuoco said she thought she “blew up” her life, recalling, “My hair and makeup girls came over. They were literally doing my hair makeup on the floor. I said, ‘I can't go. I was so sad. The path for me was so complicated. And I just thought, ‘Oh, man, this might've been it for me.’ ”

However, just two weeks later, things significantly changed for Cuoco during a trip to New York when her manager encouraged her to meet Ozark actor Tom Pelphrey. Cuoco noted that her manager had previously tried to set her up with Pelphrey, but she had shot it down as she was too deep into her divorce.

But after an in-depth Instagram scan, Cuoco decided that not only was she ready to meet Pelphrey, but she also had a premonition that they’d have a lengthy future together.

“I get this feeling that I'm gonna spend my life with him,” Cuoco revealed. “And I texted my best friend, Sasha, in that moment. She still has it, and I said, ‘This is crazy, but I have to put it in writing. I think I'm gonna meet the man I'm gonna spend my life with.’ She goes, ‘What do mean?’ I'm like, ‘Just keep this text.’ And it was Tom. And I met him two weeks later.”

Cuoco and Pelphrey share daughter Matilda, who turns 3 in March, and Cuoco joked that after meeting Pelphrey, “we got pregnant like an hour later.”

“I never thought I would have kids,” the Vanished star admitted. “I always loved them, but I felt like I missed the mark. And then with my ex, I kept thinking I didn't want kids with him, or I don't know what it was. Something was missing. I knew it wasn't right for that.”

At the time Cuoco said she convinced herself it would be okay, adding, “I was fine. I think deep down I wasn't fine, but I met Tom. We both wanted it so bad. And then we got pregnant easily, and we're so excited.”

Cuoco and Pelphrey announced their engagement in August 2024. Cuoco shared the news on her Instagram Stories by showing off her ring with the caption, "Amazing weekend."

And as for her ex, Cuoco had only praise for equestrian Cook.

“He's amazing. I have not a single bad thing to say about that,” she said.

The former pair married in 2018 before announcing their split in September 2021. They finalized their divorce in June 2022.
