Judith Light says her bond with Tony Danza grew stronger throughout their time on Who's the Boss?

The 1980s sitcom told the story of a single dad working as a live-in housekeeper

It aired for eight seasons and centered around a single dad and former pro baseball player (Danza) who takes a job as a live-in housekeeper for a powerful ad executive (Light)

Judith Light is sharing details of her continued closeness with Tony Danza, 34 years after their hit sitcom, Who's the Boss? went off the air.

Speaking on a recent episode of Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson, 77-year-old Light said of her relationship with Danza, 75: "You know how when like people who talk about long-running series, and they say at the end they like couldn't wait to get away from everybody? That wasn't so for us."

"Our dynamic — we loved each other more at the end than we did in the beginning," Light added. "Our relationship was better at the end than it was in the beginning. I mean, we really worked on it. We developed it. We communicated with each other."

She continued: "It was a really strong bond. And we still text each other to this day."

Light added that she recently texted her longtime friend happy birthday wishes.

The 1980s domestic comedy helped put fairly progressive content — for its time — into prime time, as it was centered around a single dad and former pro baseball player (Danza) who takes a job as a live-in housekeeper for a powerful ad executive (Light).
