Major changes are coming to the cast of Netflix's Selling Sunset
At least five of the Oppenheim Group agents have confirmed they will not return ahead of season 10
Mary Bonnet says she left due to dissatisfaction with the show's direction and unfair editing in season 9
Sandra Vergara called season 9 "toxic and chaotic" and chose a separate opportunity over filming another season
Major cast changes are underway for Selling Sunset, and the agents on their way out are opening up about why they left.
In late April, Netflix confirmed the hit reality series was renewed for season 10. The show, which follows the cutthroat lives of luxury real estate agents at The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles, first premiered in 2019.
However, since season 9 ended, a number of the series' famous faces have chosen to step away from the franchise. Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Nicole Young, Alana Gold and newcomer Sandra Vergara have all stated they will not return. And per a TMZ report in April, Emma Hernan and Chelsea Lazkani will also be exiting. Rumors quickly began to swirl online about the cause of the departures and the state of the show.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE last week, Bonnet, a staple on the show since season 1, set the record straight about her decision to leave.

"I'm the vice president of The Oppenheim Group, so yeah, I'm not fired," the 45-year-old tells PEOPLE. She cited dissatisfaction with the direction of the series as her reason for no longer appearing on screen while keeping her off-camera job.
"At the end of season 9, you can see that I'm not, I'm not okay with the direction that the office is going, that the show is going," Bonnet says. "I signed up for the show, I thought it was gonna be woman empowerment. I thought it was going to be a very positive thing for women and for the real estate industry and I think it's kind of taken a turn from that."

A major factor in her choice was the editing of season 9, which she describes as "extremely unfair."
"It looked like I was just overreacting the whole season," Bonnet says. "There was so much taken of our context it painted a picture that I think is extremely damaging and I'm just not gonna be involved in that."
Bonnet's costar, Vergara, 37, has also spoken out since news of her exit. "I'm not that sad about it," the realtor told The TMZ Podcast last month. She says when season 10 filming was announced another opportunity came up that would shoot at the exact same time.

"It just felt way more aligned for me in that moment in my life, just because season 9 was an adventure, but it was also very toxic and chaotic," she explained.
In a May 19 Instagram video, Alana Gold, 34, announced that back in February she "decided to leave Selling Sunset" before season 10. She described the show, which she joined in season 8, as an "amazing journey," but says it's time to focus on other priorities, including real estate, a new "business venture" and her mental health.

Original cast member Chrishell Stause, 44, previously revealed in November 2025 that she was officially leaving the show after nine seasons. At the time, she claimed being a part of the show was "no longer good for my mental health."

In March, a representative for Nicole Young, 41, who starred on the show for seasons 6 through 9, exclusively told PEOPLE that she was leaving the series. Young's rep says the reality star's portrayal on the show "over a number of seasons" was "rather disheartening to observe."
Hernan, 34, and Lazkani, 33, have yet to publicly address reports of their exits. PEOPLE has reached out to their teams for comment.
Despite the numerous exits, Netflix confirmed in April that original cast members Christine Quinn and Heather Rae El Moussa are rejoining the Netflix series. Quinn, 37, departed the series after season 5 in 2022. El Moussa, 38, exited a year later.
Bre Tiesi and Amanza Smith are also reportedly returning to the show, according to TMZ.
