Coco Jones‘ Super Bowl 2026 appearance was more than just a musical moment. It was also a carefully crafted fashion tribute that bridged generations of Black excellence in music and sports. The singer and actress wore a custom Karl Kani ensemble that reimagined Whitney Houston’s white tracksuit from her legendary 1991 National Anthem performance.

Coco Jones’ Super Bowl 2026 look honored Whitney Houston’s legacy with a modern twist. Designed by Karl Kani, a pioneer of hip-hop fashion, the outfit retained the all-white palette and sporty DNA of the late singer’s original look but elevated it with couture-level detailing. The outfit included a cropped white jacket with red, blue, and green stripes, the colours of the Pan-African flag

Jones paired the jacket with a high-low bubble mini skirt with stripes in the same colours. The skirt also had a huge train that added drama, fitting for the Super Bowl. Ahead of her pre-game performance on February 8, she had teased her homage to Houston in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. About working with designer on the outfit, she said, “I’m excited for him to get to have his moment with this.”

The “Bel Air” star also wore a white headband, similar to the one Houston had sported for her performance at Super Bowl XXV. Styled by Vance Gamble, she also made a case for the NYC-based footwear brand Brandon Blackwood’s Paloma Sneaker Heel. She opted for the white version of the shoes, which are currently out of stock. The black version is available for purchase at $110.

Jones stepped onto the field at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Besides her, Brandi Carlile and Green Day also performed at the pre-game show. While Charlie Puth sang “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Bad Bunny took the stage for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
