It might've been cold, but Brittany Mahomes looked hot.
The wife of Patrick Mahomes shared a behind-the-scenes look on Instagram at her cover shoot for the February digital issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, which was shot in Fort Meyers, Fla., in freezing temperatures this winter.
Mahomes, 30, slipped into a red string bikini and black one-piece for the beachside shoot, however the weather was nontraditional for the Sunshine State this season, as a large portion of the United States, particularly the East, has been under a deep freeze.

The football wife gives her followers a glimpse behind the scenes with a transparent vlog of her experience, from her snow-covered travels from her Kansas City home (which was in negative temps when she departed) to the Florida beaches that were whipping wind during the shoot.
"It's like negative something degrees here in Kansas City, so I'm going to put a coat on over this," she tells the camera in a mirror selfie angle, seen wearing a pink matching sweatsuit set and fuzzy slides for her day of travel.
The next clip cuts to Mahomes in Florida, selecting the swimsuits she'll wear and sitting in the glam chair getting her hair and makeup done for the WAG-centric photo shoot, which also features Ronika Love, Christen Goff, Claire Kittle, Haley Cavinder and Normani, who have covers of their own.
Then, Mahomes is seen bundling up in an oversize black jacket with her hair blowing in the strong sea breeze as she stands on the beach preparing to strip down into her bathing suit to get the shot. "Oh my gosh," she mouths, visibly very cold.
The camera pans to the photographers and photo shoot crew surrounding Mahomes, all layered up in winter coats with many wearing hats and hoods on their heads. The model, meanwhile, poses fearlessly in her bathing suit, as if the temperatures are much higher.

"I'm so excited to be here!" squeaks Mahomes, smiling while talking to a camera now wrapped in layers of blankets and her giant coat once they got the shots. "I'm going to freeze," she says in a different clip of herself alongside Kittle and Goff from earlier in the day.
The rest of the Instagram Reel is stitched with video clips from other moments of the day, including her group shots with the rest of the cover stars and a solo shot of herself in a red bikini (seen wearing fuzzy slippers that ultimately get cropped out of the final photos!).
"It's been such an incredible journey, and I can't wait for you guys to see it!" Mahomes says to conclude the video.

In addition to her narration in the vlog, the mother of three children — whom she shares with her Chiefs quarterback husband — paired her post with a lengthy caption. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to cover Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and gushed over doing it as a mom.
"Never did I imagine myself doing a cover shoot for @si_swimsuit after having three amazing babes! But truly, I am here for all the moms out there hoping to inspire you that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!" she wrote.
"In order to be the best version of yourself for your kids, you first need to be the best version of yourself for YOU!" she continued her caption. "Whatever stage of the journey you’re in — move your body and find your happy. You got this! 👏🏼👏🏼"

MJ Day, editor-in-chief at Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, praised the five women in an Instagram post of her own for pushing through the cold conditions and their "impressive" commitment to their responsibilities on set despite the challenges.
"I wish I could properly express how these 6 women showed up for these moments. They had to beat a blizzard, they were COLD, like really cold guys. It was a freak Floridian cold snap. They didn’t flinch. They didn’t blink. They put a game face on the way I have never seen people do it," she wrote.
"It was seriously the most impressive thing I have ever seen," she continued. "They cheered each other on, they showed us so much enthusiasm and appreciation. This is how they do life. Not just for us, for themselves. Drive, grit and grace. It was. Literally."
She concluded, "The MOST epic day. And they deserve every bit of this celebration! Congratulations Covermodels!!!!!! ILY ALL🍾🎉 ."
