Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, couldn’t help but take an unsubtle dig at Klint Kubiak after the Raiders head coach guaranteed that Las Vegas would beat Kansas City.

With the Raiders leading the Chiefs 13-10 at halftime of Sunday’s contest — during which Tyquan Thornton suffered a gruesome injury — CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson asked Kubiak about his team’s lackluster rushing attack up to that point. Through the first two quarters of play, Las Vegas mustered only 17 yards on the ground.

"It's not good enough,ā€ Kubiak replied. ā€œWe got to do better. But you know what, we're winning. We're going to win the game."

To Kubiak’s credit, victory was well within the Raiders’ sights for much of Sunday night. Las Vegas held a 19-17 lead with just under five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, having applied consistent pressure on Mahomes while largely limiting star running back Kenneth Walker III.

Yet the Chiefs wouldn’t stay down for long, orchestrating a four-play, 65-yard scoring drive capped off by a two-yard touchdown run from Walker to go up 23-19. On the ensuing kickoff, Raiders’ Dareke Young had the ball punched out by linebacker Jeffrey Bassa, with Kansas City swiftly pouncing on the fumble.

Walker rumbled 22 yards into the end zone on the very next play, giving the Chiefs a commanding 11-point lead. The Raiders clawed back to within three thanks to a Brock Bowers touchdown reception and successful two-point conversion, though their comeback would ultimately fall just short.

Once the dust had finally settled on the Chiefs’ 30-27 win, Brittany shared a series of snaps from the game alongside the caption: ā€œWe’re winning. We’re gonna win the game.ā€

Taking to the comment section, droves of NFL fans applauded Brittany for the witty comment. ā€œThe caption understood the assignment,ā€ an Instagram user wrote, with another adding: ā€œBRITTTTTTTT came with receiptsssssss.ā€

A third chimed in, ā€œI KNEW his comment was gonna backfire and was waiting.ā€

Others slammed Kubiak for making such a bold comment. ā€œHe was too confident… should of kept that to himself… GO CHIEFS,ā€ one person said. Someone else joked, ā€œRaiders coach has won 3 games and thinks he’s John Madden.ā€

Speaking to reporters during a postgame press conference, Kubiak didn’t hide from his halftime remarks. "That's how I felt," he acknowledged. "I just said what I felt."

This is hardly the first time this season that Brittany has poked fun at a team that Mahomes and the Chiefs beat.

Following the Chiefs’ 31-10 win over the Denver Broncos on Sept. 14, she wasted no time pulling up receipts of pundits’ predictions ahead of the Week 1 AFC West clash.

On Instagram, Brittany shared a story of the ā€˜Get Up’ graphic displaying Mike Greenberg, Domonique Foxworth, Tedy Bruschi and Rex Ryan all picking the Broncos to win. ā€˜ā€œOopsies,ā€ she wrote alongside the picture.
